Come and join us for a great fun night with a team or we will create one for you.

Including Hot supper. Prize for the best team.

Thurs 11th August - Ipswich Maritime Trust – John Warren

This charity was formed after Maritime Ipswich in 1982. The Trust supports educational activities, such as the Sea Change Sailing Trust and organises public lectures. The IMT Window Museum on Albion Quay on the Waterfront is open all year with changing displays of local maritime history.

Pre-lunch drinks 11.45. Two course Lunch 12.15pm. Cost: £19.00 per person.

Weds 17th August - Summer Buffet Lunch

A cool selection for a hot day. The perfect lunch with poached salmon and a fine selection of meats and salads and maybe a glass of wine or two from the bar to help things along.

Service starts 12.30. Cost: £25.00 per person.

Thurs 18th August - Two Rivers Barge Sailing Trip

Great chance to book in advance to see the best views of the rivers Orwell and Stour while sailing on the Barge Victor. Set sail from Old Custom House with inclusive mid morning coffee & biscuits also a Bacon Roll. Two course lunch with wine. Afternoon cream Tea.

Thurs 25th August - Ipswich Historic Waterfront Regeneration - John Field

This talk explores the planning policies and proposals which have resulted in what John considers is the most successful and attractive post-industrial regeneration scheme on the East Coast between the Thames and the Humber.

Thurs 1st September - The Dig - Charlie Haylock

Owing to our sell out event in July, we have negotiated a further date for Charlie Haycock, Charlie was the dialect coach for Ralph Fiennes in the Netflix film The Dig. Based on a novel with the same title about the famous Sutton Hoo burial ship. Charlie will explain how a potential "scam" email from "The Dig" producer, turned out to be real, and followed by a phone call from Ralph Fiennes. Charlie will also explain the extreme lengths Ralph Fiennes took, not only to play Basil Brown but to become Basil Brown.

Finish in the office and come and join us for a social gathering to celebrate the start of the weekend. Bring your colleagues to your club.

Thurs 8th September - Morris Men - Squire Mike Garland

The Morris Dance has been an important feature of English life since before the fifteenth century, an entertainment for Courts and Kings, a key feature of great processions, and a vital part of poor men’s wages. Mike Garland, Squire of East Suffolk Morris men will not only explain this history but will also demonstrate the dance, accompanied by Mick Reeve, one of East Suffolk’s excellent musicians.

Fri 16th September - Italian Wine Tasting

This event will explore the many regions of Italy. Come and join us for a fantastic time over a three course meal to complement generous servings of wine, researched, tasted and selected by our experienced Wine Committee.

Thurs 22nd September - Orchard Barn Project – Sarah Partridge

Orchard Barn is an ambitious community project started by Sarah Partridge in 2007. The current project is the reinstatement of a 1580 timber frame Suffolk Long House and undertaken in a ‘like for like’ fashion. The project has reached an exciting phase. All the timbers are now cut and test fitted on the ground, and the slow but sustainable raising of the frame has begun.

Fri 30th September - Harvest Festival Dinner

Celebrate with friends and family all that we have gathered from the land and sea around East Anglia and crafted the produce into a stunning menu for your enjoyment.

Bar opens 7.00pm. Service 7.30pm 3 course menu: £35.00 per person.

snooker at the Ipswich and Suffolk Club

The Ipswich and Suffolk Club boast a superb snooker facility with two first class tables in gererously proportioned adjacent rooms, conveniently located next to the club bar!

Here a thriving snooker section plays informally on a daily basis and throughout the year in club and inter-club competition.

The snooker section has for many years been under the capable stewardship of Snooker Captain Allan Williams, who with the help of the snooker committee makes sure that the full programme of matches are always well attended and much enjoyed by all.

The Ipswich and Suffolk Club Book GroupOwing to their popularity, the Ipswich & Suffolk Club runs two Book Groups for the enjoyment of its members.

Running throughout the year, the Book Group operates on either the first or the third Wednesday of every month depending upon which group you join.

The club Book Groups see an eclectic range of modern and classic literature discussed by its members.

All members are welcome to come along and join the discussions plus enjoy an informal light lunch afterwards.

Bridge at the Ipswich and Suffolk ClubCaptained by Maurice Barnes, the Ipswich & Suffolk Bridge Club meets at 9.30 on Tuesday mornings for competitive but friendly duplicate bridge in the Adam Room. Any club member who has experience of playing bridge is welcome to join us but we are not a suitable group for beginners.

Regular golfing activity for members in Ipswich

Many of our members are keen amateur golfers and the club’s golf section provides regular opportunities to play in friendly competition.

Matches are played annually against local rivals, the Bury Farmers Club and the Colchester Garrison Officers Club and every year the Barnard Cup (stableford golf day) and Northgate Trophy (knockout) are keenly contested.
