The Ipswich & Suffolk Club's Restaurant and Bar are open every weekday offering both traditional silver service and bistro style dining.

Bar open from 11am. Restaurant 12:30pm - 2:00pm


Friday 1st November - End of week Social Tapas Bar

Please note this event has now been rescheduled for Friday 29th November owing to the Club hosting the supper for the sell-out 90th Anniversary Proms.

Friday 1st November - Royal Philharmonic Orchestra 90th Anniversary Proms.

The Ipswich Regent Theatre’s 90th Anniversary Proms features live music at its best – the unbeatable anthems of the Rolling Stones and the Beatles meets the get-up-and-dance pop rhythms of Stevie Wonder, alongside your favourite Proms classics!

Club arrival 6:00pm. 2 Course & Coffee Supper 6.15pm. Show 7.30pm. £38.50 per person including supper and show ticket.

Thursday 7th November - Special New World vs Old World Wine Tasting Dinner Hosted by Charles Eaton.

Try some superb Nethergate wines with 3 course menu to compliment and test your pallet while being entertained by Charles.

Bar open from 7.00pm. Tasting dinner starts 7.30pm.  Cost: £35.00 per person.

Thursday 7th November - Speakers Lunch - Andrew Bates – Tax, Care, & Toy Boys

Andrew will explain why and how you should plan the future. Protecting your family’s nest egg, Inheritance tax, Stopping ‘sideways disinheritance’, Lasting Powers of Attorney

Pre-lunch drinks 11.45. Lunch 12.15pm. Cost: £17.00 per person.

Friday 8th November - Annie Show & pre-show supper

Our initial seat allocation full but we are holding a waiting list and seeking further seats.

Arrival 6.00. Supper 6.15pm. Show 7.30pm. Cost: £46.00 per person. Children under 12 £36.00

Thursday 21st November - Speakers Lunch - John Sadler The Ipswich Mint

Coin expert John Sadler’s latest book is a weighty volume. And that’s as it should be, considering what it represents. Volume III of The Ipswich Mint is a 50-year study of medieval coins struck in the town between about 973 and 1207.

Pre-lunch drinks 11.45. Lunch 12.15pm. Cost: £17.00 per person.

Saturday 23rd November - Classic Afternoon Tea

A glass of Prosecco together with a delightful selection of freshly prepared sandwiches, homemade cakes, scones, strawberry jam and clotted cream and all complimented with a range of fine teas.

Service 2.00pm till 5.00pm. £15.00 per person.

Friday 29th November - End of week Social Tapas Bar

Finish in the office and come and join us for a social gathering to celebrate the start of the weekend. Bring your colleagues to your club.

Open 5.00-8.00pm. Drinks and Tapas individually priced.

Saturday 30th November - Autumn Concert - Ipswich Symphony Orchestra

The Violin Concerto is one of Elgar’s finest and most enthralling works. Soloist, Benjamin Baker, was born in New Zealand, later studying at the Yehudi Menuhin School and the Royal College of Music. He now enjoys a flourishing international career in Europe, America and the Far East, and is a hugely popular performer in his native country. Conductor for the evening is Adam Gatehouse with featured works including Delius: La Calinda, Elgar: Violin Concerto, Dvorak: 8th Symphony.

Club arrival 6:00pm. 2 Course & Coffee Supper, Show at Corn Exchange 7.30pm. £29.00 per person including supper and show ticket.

snooker at the Ipswich and Suffolk ClubThe Ipswich and Suffolk Club boast a superb snooker facility with two first class tables in gererously proportioned adjacent rooms, conveniently located next to the club bar!

Here a thriving snooker section plays informally on a daily basis and throughout the year in club and inter-club competition.

The snooker section has for many years been under the capable stewardship of Snooker Captain Allan Williams, who with the help of the snooker committee makes sure that the full programme of matches are always well attended and much enjoyed by all.

The Ipswich and Suffolk Club Book GroupOwing to their popularity, the Ipswich & Suffolk Club runs two Book Groups for the enjoyment of its members.

Running throughout the year, the Book Group operates on either the first or the third Wednesday of every month depending upon which group you join.

The club Book Groups see an eclectic range of modern and classic literature discussed by its members.

All members are welcome to come along and join the discussions plus enjoy an informal light lunch afterwards.

Bridge at the Ipswich and Suffolk ClubCaptained by Maurice Barnes, the Ipswich and Suffolk Bridge Club meets every Tuesday morning for bridge in the Adam Room ahead of an enjoyable lunch in the club restaurant.

Here duplicate bridge is keenly contested by members and guests.

Golf | Print |

Regular golfing activity for members in IpswichMany of our members are keen amateur golfers and the club’s golf section provides regular opportunities to play in friendly competition.

Matches are played annually against local rivals, the Bury Farmers Club and the Colchester Garrison Officers Club and every year the Barnard Cup (stableford golf day) and Northgate Trophy (knockout) are keenly contested.

Our Scrabble Club usually runs in the evening of the second Tuesday of the month.

Test your wordplay skills and knowledge against other club members at a great fun evening.

Bar opens 6.30pm with a hot supper (diets catered for) and Scrabble to follow.

Chess | Print |

Our Chess Club runs the second Wednesday of every month commencing 6:30pm and is open to all members whether you are a complete beginner, rusty player or more experienced as the group can cater for all levels and abilities. Please do bring along a board if you have one.

Please note that there is no catering at this event but the Club Bar will be open.
