A message from the Directors of The Ipswich and Suffolk Club

| Print |

Dear Club Member,

From July 19th 2021, to ensure your visit will be as safe as can be, the staff continue to implement the sanitising stations and deep cleaning within the club.

The bar will be open again, along with the main restaurant, the bistro and the Terrace area. A full menu (below) will be available and, as always, it is best to reserve your table in advance. Staff will still be wearing a face covering while serving you, but as this will no longer be mandatory anymore the choice will be yours if you feel more secure to wear one.

Bridge will restart Tuesday 20th and we hope to have the newspapers return by 26th.

Over the last few months lots of work has been happening behind the scenes. Allong with a major refit creating our new Bistro area, there was an issue with the floor in the Adam Room and Bar ceiling which has now been repaired along with the roof above having 150 tiles replaced, and in keeping with the conservation of the building Heritage Tiles were used.

The security of the building is in the process of being upgraded. New “Smart” Alarm system and deadlocks are being fitted to the entrance doors to be operated by the Club Management. Please remember the Northgates will continue to be closed on Saturdays and Sundays. They will also be closed during the week at 5.30 pm unless we have a function. The reason for this is to stop the area being used as a public convenience! You can still access the gates by calling 07743632834 with your registered mobile phone or using the manual code at the gate - if you need a reminder of this code, please speak to Robert.

The Tower Street gates will stay open 07.30-19.30 Monday-Saturday and 08.30-14.00 Sundays. When closed you can still open by calling the gate 07851763823 (different number) with your registered mobile or code at the gate. To exit when the gates are closed slowly drive and stop 2.5 m away from the gates and they will auto open and close on exit. Again if you need to be reminded of the codes for either gate, please contact the Club.

As we are anticipating an influx of members visiting the club again please check you are displaying a current parking permit as we are experiencing a high number of non member "parking bandits" using YOUR car park for free. We are on the case and have to issue a Parking Charge Notice (PCN) to any vehicle without a valid permit as we do not carry a members list with us.

We look forward to seeing you again soon.
