Club Restaurant & Bar

The Ipswich & Suffolk Club's Restaurant and Bar are open every weekday offering both traditional silver service and bistro style dining.

Bar open from 11am. Restaurant 12:30pm - 2:00pm

Thursday 8th March - Speakers Lunch - Barrie Powell Bee Keeper Extraordinaire

Barrie’s award-winning honey is produced by bees living in and around Shotley and has wowed the Suffolk Beekeepers’ Association judges with its taste, texture and sheer goodness. Mr Powell has been keeping bees for more than 65 years and is acknowledged as one of the country's leading experts.

Pre lunch drinks 11.45. Lunch 12.15pm. Cost: £15.00 per person.

Thursday 8th March - Sunset Boulevard Supper & Show night

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Tony Award® winning masterpiece Sunset Boulevard, starring internationally acclaimed musical theatre start Ria Jones as Norma Desmond, comes to the Regent Theatre, Ipswich.

Arrive 5.45/6.00 for 6.15pm supper, show 7.30pm. Cost: £55.00 inclusive.

Tuesday 13th March - Scrabble Evening with Supper

Test your knowledge on a great fun evening.

Bar opens 6.30 with a simple hot supper (diets catered for). Scrabble to follow.

Entry cost including supper is only £12.00 with a prize for the winner.

Saturday 17th March - Club Seafood Night

Delivered fresh to the Club we present to you seafood from around the UK with a four-course menu including local fish as well as shellfish to celebrate our UK coastal waters.

Bar opens 7.00pm. Restaurant opens 7.30pm. Menu: £36.00 per person.

ADDITIONAL EVENT - Wednesday 21st March - Bonhams valuation Day

Owing to the popularity of previous events, we have arranged for Bonhams to visit the Ipswich and Suffolk Club for a Jewellery, Fine Art and Antiques valuation day. Come and talk to the Bonhams experts for information on that special item. Thursday 22nd March - Speakers Lunch - Peter Fairs on Farm Crops of the Future

Talk about the development of niche market, food and pharmaceutical crops, also some of the more controversial issues surrounding farming. A basically opinionated farmer who has farmed at Great Tey, Colchester since 1964.

Pre lunch drinks 11.45. Lunch 12.15pm. Cost: £15.00 per person.

Saturday 24th March - Supper and Concert at St Mary le Tower

Music of St John Passion - JS Bach & Evangelist - Daniel Joy.

Conductor Christopher Borrett. Soloists Beatrice Scaldini with a full Professional orchestra and the Ipswich Chamber Choir.

Arrive 5.30 for 5.45 two-course supper and coffee. Show 7.00pm. Cost: £32.00 inclusive.

snooker at the Ipswich and Suffolk ClubThe Ipswich and Suffolk Club boast a superb snooker facility with two first class tables in gererously proportioned adjacent rooms, conveniently located next to the club bar!

Here a thriving snooker section plays informally on a daily basis and throughout the year in club and inter-club competition.

The snooker section has for many years been under the capable stewardship of Snooker Captain Allan Williams, who with the help of the snooker committee makes sure that the full programme of matches are always well attended and much enjoyed by all.

The Ipswich and Suffolk Club Book GroupOwing to their popularity, the Ipswich & Suffolk Club runs two Book Groups for the enjoyment of its members.

Running throughout the year, the Book Group operates on either the first or the third Wednesday of every month depending upon which group you join.

The club Book Groups see an eclectic range of modern and classic literature discussed by its members.

All members are welcome to come along and join the discussions plus enjoy an informal light lunch afterwards.

Bridge at the Ipswich and Suffolk ClubCaptained by Maurice Barnes, the Ipswich and Suffolk Bridge Club meets every Tuesday morning for bridge in the Adam Room ahead of an enjoyable lunch in the club restaurant.

Here duplicate bridge is keenly contested by members and guests.

Golf | Print |

Regular golfing activity for members in IpswichMany of our members are keen amateur golfers and the club’s golf section provides regular opportunities to play in friendly competition.

Matches are played annually against local rivals, the Bury Farmers Club and the Colchester Garrison Officers Club and every year the Barnard Cup (stableford golf day) and Northgate Trophy (knockout) are keenly contested.

Our Scrabble Club usually runs in the evening of the second Tuesday of the month.

Test your wordplay skills and knowledge against other club members at a great fun evening.

Bar opens 6.30pm with a hot supper (diets catered for) and Scrabble to follow.

Chess | Print |

Our Chess Club runs the second Wednesday of every month commencing 6:30pm and is open to all members whether you are a complete beginner, rusty player or more experienced as the group can cater for all levels and abilities. Please do bring along a board if you have one.

Please note that there is no catering at this event but the Club Bar will be open.
